Happy Halloween 07

Maya celebrated her 2nd Halloween by...wait...for...it...getting sick. Man, I was...uhmm, I mean SHE so was looking forward to showing off her costume this year. She woke up the day before with a wicked runny nose and a deep cough. Doctor said no ear infection, just a virus. Rest and time is the only cure. No antibiotics.

By mid morning, Maya was doing better, runny nose stopped and she was less fussy. We took off to daycare so that she could trick-or-treat with her classmates. After a short while she began to get fussy so we left before the pot luck and pony ride. Yes, every year they have a pony for the kids to ride. Oh well, figured lunch and a nap before the doctor was in her best interest.

This past Sunday, before the sickness, Maya met her friends Aya and Tiffany for Trick-or-Treating at Sea World.

So, no pony ride this year but double Trick-or-Treating.

Chuck E Cheese

Maya was invited to her friend Triffany's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese this past weekend. Pan said she had a wonderful time. Running around with a cup of tokens, stopping only when a ride caught her eye. Pizza, games and cake...does it get any better?

Since our wedding anniversary and Maya's birthday are only days apart we may have a joint celebration at our local Chuck E Cheese. No greater gift to me than watching Maya have the time of her life.

On a more serious parenting note, starting a few weeks ago, Maya started using the word "No"...a...lot. I tried to explain why we need to make good choices when using our words. Now she says "No, no, no,no, no." Hmmmm. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. She has also taught this to her class mates at daycare. [tear]

Maya : Month 18 1/2

I am going to post this for Rob who still hasn't had vacation from me after taking care of Maya & doggies for 19 days. Sounds little hard to take care of a toddler and 3 doggies. But actually really, really hard. I do that once in a while and realize how hard it is. It's hard to imagine for people who never done it. I usually go to long business trip twice a year. Anyone wants to volunteer for next time?

Maya's been talking a lot lately. Some of new words she learned are: "Door", "Please", "Open" & "Close". She even said "Grand ma" today, looking at my parents' picture! Maya can also says 2 words put together too. When Rob asked her if she wants to wear either "Pink Shoes" or "Purple Shoes" this morning, she answered "Purple Shoes". I just hope she will not become like Carrie from the Sex and the City. I got to hold off to take her go shopping. Wait a minute...Barney's NY is going to open in San Diego!
