Maya : Week 56

Finally, a sick free week. Yes, Maya had another ear infection, which included another fever, which brought another trip to the doctor's office. That was last week, so far this week Maya has been healthy and happy.

I was told today that she has been biting some of the other kids during play time. Hmmm...I was also told that her boyfriend Jack started biting the other kids a while back and that she may have learned from him. Hmmm...Peer Pressure already? Is this were the term ankle biter comes from?

Maya received two gifts (Bunny Chair & Hello Kitty) for her birthday that were on...back order...[cough, cough]. Thanks Wah and Si.

I went to visit Maya at daycare today. It was interesting to see that she was eating the school lunch. I knew that she had started to eat school lunches. I just never saw what the lunches looked like. Man thats a lot of food.

Maya : Week 53

Maya is starting to stand on her own. Its just a matter of time before she starts to walk on her own.

We have introduced Maya to more solid foods now that she is One. Grill cheese, steak, asparagus (stinky poo...gag). She'll eat and then ask for more. We found that she does not like the tastes of Uni...so sad...actually, it just means more for me and Pan. Mmmmm...Uni...[mouth watering].

04/10 Dinner : Lemon Soy Flounder with Capers

Tonights dinner was Lemon Soy Flounder with Capers and Roasted Asparagus Tips on top of Bow Tie Pasta. The recipe for the Lemon Soy Flounder is here. I added a handful of capers before going in the oven. The Asparagus was roasted in extra virgin olive oil with a bit of salt and pepper. Place flounder over the cooked pasta. Spoon sauce over flounder. Sprinkle with asparagus tips. Top with lemon zest and fresh cracked pepper (optional).

Birthday Party

Guess who turned One? Has it been 12 months already? Sheesh.

The Helen Agoo cooked all the chinese dishes, Jess made Green Tea Cookies, Anna made Lemon Bar Cookies and Double Chin made Corned Beef.

Thanks to all the friends and family that took the time to come help us celebrate Maya's First Birthday. I know for some it was not easy. We appreciate all the thoughtful birthday gifts. A special thanks to Pan who organized the event.
